Guilin really shines at night, and many of the places we visited during the day looked even cooler in the evening. As it drizzled Jessica and I did some window shopping at the Fashion Style Street among other fellow tourists one evening.

We went on to see the Xiaoyao Tower, where visitors can look out over the city, but from below, it lights up so brightly.

Across the street is the Jiefing Bridge, all lit up in blue.

We walked under the bridge, providing another angle.

Then back up, to the line of bright, color-changing archways (some kind of lampposts methinks).

There were still fishermen with their lines in the water, with the Opera house across the river.

We continued down the waterfront path, under the green canopy, and past a band playing on the street,

…until we reached the Moon and Sun Pagodas, the star(s) of Guilin at night.

And finally, we returned to Elephant Trunk Hill.

Even if passing through Guilin, it is worth spending an evening walking around, as the city is really impressive at night, and all of these places are within walking distances of each other. Let’s finish with some cool lampposts all lit up (and a couple from the daytime)!

Next up: Our visit to Chongqing!
The sun and moon towers look very beautiful at night!
