Travels in Kunming: Spring Flowers, Peacocks, and Lampposts

Kunming has so much beauty, and in springtime is the best time to see it in all its glory. First off, there were so many different forms of peacocks, from real, live ones we saw at the Zoo to many statues with the tails made of flower arrangements, to paintings and lanterns.

The variety of flowers everywhere is very cool. Here are my favorites:

Back when we were living and traveling around Europe, I really became enamored with all the different styles of lampposts. Kunming had so many different kinds, that I was again inspired to take pictures of them, even if, to locals, it seemed weird to take pictures of something such a part of their everyday lives.

More posts from Kunming to come!

  1. I am a plant lover, so I am really enjoying all the photos of the beautiful flowers everywhere! Also – I think the lamp posts are really interesting, and I have a friend who used to blog about his travels and included a feature called “toilets of the world,” so why not?!

    1. Its amazing the flowers over here, I see why they have a problem choosing national ones, there are so many. I am so happy to find another plant lover, too! Toliets of the world, I love it. share their site if you would.
